The Liverpool City Region Skills Show takes shape
We look forward to March 2022’s Liverpool City Region Skills Show. The show is beginning to take shape rapidly and we take a look at the exciting activities visitors can enjoy.
The Liverpool City Region Skills show has been created by Apprenticeship Support by Be More. Funded by the European Social Fund and the Liverpool City Region Strategic Investment Fund, it will be the region’s largest skills and careers event in 2022. The show will have a number of different Zones that will help visitors to find the organisations and careers they may be interested in easily.
The Campus Zone is whether you will find a host of training providers. There will be a wide range of activities you can watch in this zone on the Get Skilled Stage. There are more than 10 organisations at the show in the Health and Social Care Zone. Liverpool NHS Women’s Foundation Trust will be demonstrating how defibrillators work and encouraging visitors to their stand to have a try at some basic life support skills.
The Public Services Zone has a military presence. If you are looking for an apprenticeship in the British forces then all three are exhibiting. The British Army will have a Virtual Reality parachute Jump for you to try amongst other exciting activities. You can also climb on board a Fire Engine on the Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service Stand.
The Digital and Creative Zone is home to the Future You Theatre and a range of activities from how to splice a fibre optic cable on the Genisis Training Group stand through to creating Apps on the Agent Academy stand. Take a stroll down Uni Street and you’ll see videos on the LIPA and Ask Program stands on everything from design work to apprenticeships. When you reach the IAG Zone Livepool City Council continue the video experience featuring intern’s journey to work and distance quizzes.
On to the STEM Zone where Maritime UK, The Environment Agency and Scottish Power have exciting activities for you to experience. The Power to Plug experience and sand sieving to remove plastic are just two of the attractions in this high tech zone.
Now it’s time to step into the Construction & The Built Environment Zone. Get hands on amongst construction materials with The Sovini Group or take a virtual reality tour through a construction site as you create a development with M&Y Maintenance and Construction Ltd.
Hungry? That might be the sights and smells that greet you in the Hospitality, Retail, Leisure and Visitor Economy Zone. In addition to taking a look at the live opportunities board to see what apprenticeships are on offer, you can also have a go at hairstyling, barbering and making music on stands including Andrew Collinge Training and Mode Training.
Finish your day in the Business and Finance Zone before a visit to the Apprenticeship Support by Be More stand where you can discuss how to apply for apprenticeships and the wide range of support they can provide to help you on your apprenticeship journey.
